Search Queries
A query entered in a search tool is sent to the outside company that provides that tool. The provider processes the terms and returns its result. We do not keep a separate log of those query terms on our servers.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you email us, we retain the message as needed to respond. It is not shared beyond our organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Basic technical details are recorded when a visitor loads a page. They may include:

No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal histories. The site publishes general directions to official Mecklenburg County record holders such as the court clerks, Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office, Meherrin River Regional Jail, the Virginia State Police Central Criminal Records Exchange, and the Virginia Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry. Visitor information is not compiled into a consumer report, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Independent companies operate the search boxes. A provider's privacy policy, retention rules, and sharing practices apply to information entered into its tool. We do not control those practices, so review the provider's policy before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Virginia courts, state offices, the Mecklenburg County government, legal resources, or private search services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's policy governs. Advertising companies may also use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select ads.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Limited information may be available to:
- Analytics vendors measuring site use and performance
- Search partners processing a query you submit
- Advertising networks placing ads
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for information under our control. No website or internet transmission can be guaranteed secure, so we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If such information is identified, it may be requested for deletion.
Your Data Rights
Depending on residence and coverage, the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act, Virginia Code §§59.1-575 through 59.1-585, may provide rights over personal data. Those rights can include:
- Confirming whether personal data is processed and obtaining access
